2011 Outstanding Member Award
Awarded to members who have demonstrated the greatest financial
improvement using HealthTrust cost savings initiatives, contract
compliance and adoption of new contract categories.
Michael J. Bonck, RPH, Pharmacy

Mike Bonck, RPH, is manager of pharma-
ceutical services for the Franciscan Health
System (FHS) in Tacoma, Wash. FHS is part
of Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI), the
third-largest Catholic health system in the nation.
Bonck has worked for FHS since 1983. He has been a pharma-
cist for more than 30 years, graduating with a bachelor's degree
in pharmacy from the University of Washington in 1979. Bonck
is responsible for FHS' Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee,
purchasing, cost-savings initiatives (for FHS and CHI), quality
initiatives and computer support.
He also chairs and has administrative responsibility for the FHS
Institutional Review Board. He is a member of the Apexus Advisory
Council and the SNHPA Board. He has 20 years of experience with
Bonck is an alternate member of the HealthTrust Buying
Group Pharmacy Advisory Board, representing CHI along with
George Hill. Bonck is a member of the HealthTrust Pharmacy
Vendor Certification Committee and provides a weekly analysis
of HealthTrust contracting opportunities communicated via the
Pharmacy Response system. This analysis o ers further cost-savings
opportunities that are a combination of therapeutic initiatives and
therapeutic interchanges implemented within FHS and/or CHI.
Kenneth L. Flood, Senior Director of Laboratory Services
Community Health Systems, Corporate O ce Franklin, Tenn.
Ken Flood has served as laboratory direc-
tor for several years in progressively larger
facilities. In his current position as senior
director laboratory services for Community
Health Systems (CHS), his primary role is
to provide overall operational and financial
direction for CHS Labs in the application of
HealthTrust corporate contracts and agree-
ments. He also assists with regulatory compliance and provides
consultation. He works within the CHS Lab Advisory Board to
review and implement agreements, provide mentoring for new
lab directors, develop standardized purchasing programs, com-
municate as appropriate, provide on-site evaluations and reviews,
and work with HealthTrust supply partners in standardization
incentive programs (SIPs).
As a member of the HealthTrust Lab Advisory Board, he pro-
vides input related to new technologies and needed evaluations,
works within the board to make recommendations toward contract
agreements, provides input from suppliers relating to products, and
represents CHS hospitals and facilities on the board.
Lynn Hansen, MBA, BSN, Clinical Resource
Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital,
New Brunswick, N.J.
Lynn Hansen, a registered nurse, currently
serves as the clinical resource manager at
Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital
(RWJUH) in New Brunswick, N.J. During her tenure, beginning
in 1995, Lynn spent much of her time in critical care and periop-
erative services before joining the ranks of materials management
in 2009. Since moving into supply chain from the clinical arena
two years ago, Hansen has been responsible for the oversight and
implementation of all non-labor cost reduction activities for this
600-bed, leading academic medical center. Her primary role has
been to drive the compliance and conversion activities for many
